Could Covid 19 Increase Marijuana Growing?
As we begin the Spring of 2020, the Covid 19 virus that has encircled the world is affecting many U.S. and worldwide citizens, causing large changes in the way we live, socialize and shop for goods and services.
During the last month many States have implemented stay-at-home, ‘lock-down’ procedures, which has led to a slowing down of the number of infections and deaths across Europe. Fortunately, many States have recognized Marijuana as an essential form of medicine, and are allowing both recreational Cannabis stores and medical Cannabis dispensaries to remain open to the general public at the present time.
This may however, help to ‘tip the scales’ in favor of legalized home growing in some of the States where marijuana can be legally possessed and consumed, but recreational users, and in some places, medical patients are prohibited from growing Marijuana at home, or on their own land.
Bill Caruso, attorney and founder of New Jersey United for Marijuana Reform reported recently that many people, both industry professionals and patients, support the legalization of growing Marijuana at home for personal use.
Many current industry leaders and Marijuana advocates agree that medical Marijuana patients shouldn’t have to rely on a third-party to supply natural plant medicine. This may be placing at-risk patients in more danger, with them leaving the house to collect their prescription, or through contact when accepting deliveries.
States such as New Jersey, initially advocated the right for people to grow a limited number of Marijuana plants under their Marijuana legalization draft, but this was later omitted to increase the chances of the Bill becoming passed.
There are several States that currently allow the personal growing of Marijuana for medical patients, these include Washington, Oklahoma, Arizona, New Mexico and Missouri. Given the impact of Covid 19 Marijuana growing for personal use may soon also include its use for recreational purposes, bringing these States in-line with the current laws governing Maine, Alaska, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Colorado.
Other States including California, Michigan, Vermont, Oregon and Nevada allow medical patients to grow more Marijuana plants than recreational users, with no plans to change these regulations or amounts at the current time.
Covid 19 and Marijuana Growing.
Whether the Marijuana dispensaries shut due to the Covid 19 virus, or remain open during this troubling time, the last thing either a medical or recreational Marijuana user wants during self-isolation is to run out of weed. Shut in the house all day, every day, isn’t fun after a week or so, and for many, smoking Marijuana is their only form of release, and for others, a necessary medication.
While we all hope that the ‘lock-down’ will only be in-force for a short period of time, perhaps just a couple of weeks, we should look towards Europe, and see how its countries are dealing with the pandemic. Italy, Spain, France and the United Kingdom are all instructing their citizens to stay at home, with many now imposing fines for people travelling without good reason, shutting their shops, parks and schools weeks ago.
We may not like to admit it, but Covid 19 may change all our lives and cause immense amounts of disruption for several months to come. With further movement and travel restrictions possibly to be imposed due to Covid 19 Marijuana growing at home may be the best option for those people living in legalized States.
Growing Marijuana at home can be therapeutic and rewarding, after all, gardening is a very popular and relaxing past-time. If you’ve never considered growing your own Marijuana, maybe an enforced ‘lock-down’ can afford you the time and opportunity to begin, it may help pass the time, and could produce some of the nicest weed you’ve ever tried, and at a fraction of the cost.
Many people are put-off growing Marijuana due to the length of time the plants require from planting until harvest, however, Autoflowering seeds, strains of Marijuana which grow and flower simultaneously, regardless of the number of hours of daylight they receive, can reach complete maturity within 8 weeks from sprouting.
April and May are the ideal times for planting Autoflowering Marijuana seeds outdoors, allowing them the opportunity to enjoy the longest hours of daylight, during their short, 8 week growing/flowering cycle. With the possibility of weeks of enforced ‘lock-down’, now is a great time to buy and plant a selection of Autoflowering feminized Marijuana seeds, assuring you of a guaranteed, high quality harvest of fresh buds, regardless of Covid 19 and any future travelling restrictions that may be necessary.
Requiring very little care or attention, Autoflowering seeds are extremely easy to grow, often referred to as ‘throw-and-grow’ seeds. With good soil, good quality light and water, these self-flowering Marijuana seeds quickly grow and develop, while simultaneously flowering and producing buds.
Being stuck at home due to Covid 19 Marijuana growing could pass the time and potentially teach you a new skill, or give you a challenging new hobby. With a wide variety of Autoflowering Marijuana seeds available, discover the flavor, aroma and high that suits your needs best.
