Durban Poison seeds are the latest addition to the I Love Growing Marijuana Regular seeds collection. A well-known African Land-race strain that has been cultivated around the South African port city of Durban for hundreds of years. Untainted by any cross-breeding, these Durban Poison seeds are one of the few natural forms of Marijuana, producing the same plants and characteristics as they would produce grown naturally.
A perfect ‘land-race’ strain whose genetics have been incorporated into many popular hybrids, and are now available through us in Regular only form. Durban Marijuana is a deciduous plant that produces separate male and females. While the female’s flower and produce buds, the male’s role is to create pollen to fertilize the female flowers, producing seeds for the following year. On average, a packet of Durban Poison seeds will produce 50% females and 50% female plants.
Pure land-race, Sativa strains are extremely hard to find in this ever increasing world of new hybrids, so for Marijuana growers looking for a totally natural strain these Regular Durban Poison seeds are of the highest quality and will produce outstanding breed males and clone mothers. They are not recommended for complete beginner growers, as sexing the plants requires more knowledge and experience than growing feminized seeds, and unless you require a male plant for breeding purposes, growing males is often required a waste of time, resources and effort.
Although they can be grown indoors, Durban Poison seeds are best grown outside during the Spring and Summer, usually maturing late September, early October, depending upon weather and climate conditions. It’s true, Land-race Sativa genetics produce a tall, strong plant, capable of reaching up to 230 cm tall when fully mature. Strong, thick stems and branches produce large, swollen buds with long slender leaves, all of which are generously coated in thick, rich resin as maturity approaches.
The general characteristics and flowering phase of Durban Poison plants are capable of producing very tall, bushy plants with heavy individual plant yields when grown outdoors. However, they are not as easy to grow indoors, even with a purpose built growing area. The mix of male and female plants make Screen-of-Green growing methods impossible, and the plants grow and stretch are far too tall for the Sea-of-Green technique. For these reasons, indoor yields will be severely reduced, amounting to approximately 350 grams of dried, high quality buds per square meter.
